Music in the life of Trinity Church

Music is an integral part of our worship and vital to our community in our corporate expression of praise.  While we recognize that there are a myriad of musical styles and preferences that we, as individuals, are drawn to, we strive to present a balance between the more traditional approaches to worship and the modern ones of recent decades.

Our Choir sings in worship just about every Sunday between September and mid-June, offering varied styles of choral music ranging from the baroque and classical to the contemporary, jazz and spiritual idioms.  Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 7pm during the season noted above and ability to read music is not required–only a pleasant singing voice and willingness to commit to rehearsals and services.  Presently, there is a significant need for singers in all voice ranges!

Our congregational singing is served by the use of traditional hymns from the Worship and Rejoice hymnal from Hope Publishing, Inc. and accompanied mostly by a two-manual Allen Digital Organ we acquired in 2020  and also occasionally on a grand piano. The more contemporary worship song formats are championed by our Acoustic Worship Team,  utilizing grand piano, percussion and vocals. There is currently a need for an acoustic and bass guitarist.

All of these faithful and dedicated musicians are assisted in the use of their gifts by a team of Audio-Visual Techs.  Our sound and video systems received significant upgrades in 2015 and 2016 and a ministry of technical assistance was formed to help bring excellence to the use of audio-visual technology in our worship.  The Advent of Covid in 2020 necessitated the implementation of a live-streaming ministry, utilizing multiple cameras and computers to display our live services to those finding it necessary to participate in worship from home.
